START SECRET GRIT CLUB THE RIGHT WAY

Now you’ve made a decision to join Secret Grit, let’s make sure you’re prepared.

The class can be held at any time of the day, anywhere in one of ten hand-picked outdoor locations in Berlin. Everything is ensured to be safe and well-coordinated so you don’t have to worry.

Our classes are 30 minutes per session, with 2-4 sessions held weekly. Secret Grit Club does not require membership fee, you can dip in and out as much as you want. It’s just a simple matter turning up, payment can be made on the day (€10 per session, Holmes Place members pay 7.50€, just bring you membership card to receive your discount) and turning up at the class. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. We are here to provide a fun, alternative, and social way to exercise, so let’s get to it!

PREPARATION IS KEY

Congratulations in taking the first step! Ready for some action

Here are some things for you to remember to get off on the right foot.

Don’t waste time if you’re not fully committed to a session. HIIT is intense and pushes your limits right down to the edge and we do understand if you want to give up sometimes, but don’t. We have “grit” in our name for a reason, and we take pride on being able to perform under high-intensity environments to reach our goals. It’s okay to rest, but don’t quit. Having the right mindset is a key to success, and your success matters to us. Your fitness level doesn’t matter here as we will make sure YOU are properly challenged. Exercise modifications allow everyone to push their own individual limits.

Another thing to consider in your preparation is your workout gear. Equipment is not necessary for SECRET GRIT CLUB but having right clothes matter. Invest in some clothing made specifically for workouts. Look for support features where it counts; have covered seams to prevent chafing; and go for breathable, sweat wicking material that allows your body to stay cool and dry. Don’t be “gymtimidated”; you got this!

EAT AND STAY HYDRATED

Exercising is just half the battle. Having a great diet wins it.

Your body’s dietary needs changes when you exercise, more so when doing intense exercises. Keep your body in tip-top shape by eating the right amount of food at the right times of the day. Invest in nutritionally-dense foods and keep away from simple sugars, processed food, alcohol, and saturated fat.

A diet doesn’t mean starving yourself. Compliment your workouts with high-protein, low-carb meals. Do not eat right before a SECRET GRIT workout as it may cause indigestion; food should be eaten at least an hour before a workout. You will also lose electrolytes and fluids as you workout. Replace by drinking lots of water throughout the day, and maybe a sports drink after.
